Belly dance is basically about improvisation, so speaking of education can be improper in connection with this dance, because the movements of it are deep in all of us. How long it takes to bring these movements to the surface depends on your way of life, your endurance, the forms of motion you are doing and the restriction of your muscle. But in my opinion it can be told generally that everybody can experience remarkable changes with only half year long exercising and everybody can develop a lot during this time.

 

My method of education:
During the training I lay stress on how to acquire the right bearing, because this is necessary to do the movements correctly and to avoid injuries. I think it is very important free to combine the different movements with each other, I encourage my students also to do this and to build the movements they learned into their own dances. Although I generally teach choreographies, I'm against to begin studying choreography too early, because it arrests developing the skill of improvisation. The main thing is that the students can indeed learn dancing, so they can start to move according to their emotions and temperament on hearing music. All welcome at my lessons!

 

What kind of equipments you need?
Learning belly dance demands no extra investments for you. You only need casual trousers and t-shirt. At the beginning I ask you to wear trousers, because the positions of the joints are more visible in this way. Your t-shirt doesn't have to show your belly, the main point is that feel you well while wearing it. On your feet you can wear thick socks or shoes with flexible soles. If you would like to put a shawl on your hip, you can use all kind of shawls that you find at home. Later you can have shawls decorated with coins, but it's not obligatory. Beyond that it is worth to have a towel too (you can lie down on it while extending on the floor), and a bottle of water to regain the fluid you lost.
